|
|
- Rapid,
reliable and accurate test kit
- Detects
cotinine (a nicotine metabolite)
C: Control
line
T: Test line (cotinine)
- Cassette
and inbuilt pipette in sealed satchel
- Test result
after 5 minutes with 3 drops of urine
|
|
|
|
|
|
Add
three drops of urine to the sample well and read the
result after 5 (and within 10) minutes.
A red control line coming up at the top of the window shows that the
test kit is in working order.
A red line in the test window means that the donor has
"passed" the test (nicotine not detected).
A missing line is positive test result (i.e. cotinine was detected above the
cut-off level: 200 ng/ml)
A vague line is a "borderline" result, to be
interpreted negative (in favour of the donor).

All on-site test kits are based on US standards with slightly
higher (conservative) cut-off levels than
Standards Australia, which however has proven not to be a
disadvantage in Australian court rulings.
